Schedule Updates!
Working on more for the end of the year.
Hi there!
I hope you’re keeping well and finding time for yourself. I don’t have too much to say this week but I wanted to share my schedule for the month and let you know that I am working on some longer form content for the end of the year. Something that you can look forward to is a walkthrough of how I use Notion to manage my personal life, work, and even my grocery list. I will probably also be putting out a year-end mix full of music I really liked this year. I actually did one for last year and I still go back to this one every now & then so if you’re looking for something to listen to, this is it!
Here’s a little live gig update and if you ever want to come out to any of these, please reach out and I’ll do what I can to help out.
11/5 - La Caverna - 11pm to 4am
Sounds like: A lot more Open Format than I was expecting and I definitely only played some EDM. The crowd is really young like probably just out of school or in school so I play a lot of fun throwbacks – Animal by Neon Trees and Wildest Dreams By Taylor Swift were the biggest songs of the night last week, as well as all the new pop like Olivia Rodrigo & Kid Laroi.
11/6 - Beauty & Essex - 8pm to 1am
Sounds like: The complete opposite of La Caverna. I’d like to get into my classics & disco bag and also try to get away with as much 80s/Nu-Wave as possible. I’ll probably also try to steer it in the Bad Boy Classics or Afrobeats direction as much as I can but we shall see! Either way, I heard the food & drink are great here and it’s a great date spot.
11/12 - I’ll probably try to pick up a gig on this date and I’ll update in the next substack!
11/13 - I’m playing somewhere and I’m telling you I’m playing somewhere for the sake of it but it’s nothing important at all.
11/19 - My 25th Birthday Celebration! Yes! I’m turning 25! I am probably not going to be DJing on this day and I’m not quite sure as to what I’ll do for my birthday but when I decide, I will consider posting about it here. If we are close, I’ll probably just tell you.
10/20 - Back at La Caverna! See above!
10/27 [Day] - Freehold! 2 to 7pm
Sounds like: Saagar being so excited to play this gig. I LOVE playing here and while I don’t think I’m perfect for the room, I think I do a pretty solid job of navigating the crowd and playing something for everyone. I love this gig because of the musical freedom and the way you can really get into these pockets of music that I can’t really at my other gigs. It’s also a daytime gig so there’s really no excuse not to come.
10/27 [Night] - Fig19 10pm to 3am
Sounds like: A long day for Saagar. But in all seriousness, I also really like this spot. I don’t normally drink too much when I DJ but I had a very very good time the last time I was there. The bar staff is incredible and working with them is a joy. The cocktails are also really good and because it’s a speakeasy, I got away with a lot more vibe and cool stuff than I usually do. I think I played 2 Smiths songs that night and even played some LCD which certainly isn’t an everyday occurence.
12/4 - Public Roof - 10pm to 12am
Sounds like: Mixed feelings. Pre-Pandemic, I had held a 2 year residency here but since things have come back, I have played their twice and it hasn’t really been the same. I also have a lot to say about the way the place is run right now but this is me being stupid and giving it one last chance.
Stay safe and I hope to see you soon!
